Job Description
The Sales Officer plays a key role in expanding the bank’s customer base by promoting banking products and services, building strong customer relationships, and identifying new business opportunities. The position is responsible for attracting new customers, supporting existing clients, and contributing to the achievement of the bank’s growth and sales objectives while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote and market the bank’s products and services to prospective and existing customers
- Identify new business opportunities and actively engage potential customers through field visits, referrals, and networking activities.
- Open new customer accounts and assist clients in completing the required documentation and onboarding processes.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers by understanding their financial needs and providing suitable banking solutions.
- Achieve assigned sales targets and contribute to overall team performance and business growth.
- Conduct customer awareness and financial literacy activities to increase understanding and utilization of banking services.
- Follow up on customer inquiries and ensure timely resolution of issues in coordination with relevant departments.
- Cross-sell and promote additional products and services that meet customers’ needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records in accordance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in marketing campaigns, community outreach initiatives, and promotional events organized by the bank.
- Monitor customer feedback, market trends, and competitor activities and share relevant insights with management.
- Prepare and submit regular sales activity and performance reports to the supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with all internal policies, procedures, and applicable banking regulations.
- Uphold the bank’s values by maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and high ethical standards in all customer interactions.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance, Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or any other related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in sales, marketing, banking, finance, customer service, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets, acquire new customers, and maintain strong client relationships.
- Banking or financial sector experience is highly desirable.

- High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
- Fluency in both Somali and English, written and spoken.
